About Us

Breads and Bakes is a tribute to our lovely grandma and loving Aunt (may they both rest in peace) who started Breads & Bakes so many years ago. “Amma” was a food fanatic. My fondest memory of hers was eating that amazing raw sandwich that she loved. There was a sandwich vaala who used to sit near Opera House, which was her favourite, and even gave us a friends and family discount. No matter how much spice was in the sandwich, it was always ‘not spicy enough’ for our grandma. Bua knew where where the best sev puri’s were, who had the freshest bhel and who’s sandwich was the most appetising. Together, they created Breads & Bakes a new way of looking at street food. So modern even back then, they managed to recreate some of our favourite childhood dishes and make them even more delicious and even more presentable.

Pizzas, Chutney Sandwiches, Vada Pav, Pav Bhaji, Masala Pav and so many more different dishes have been recreated in a very sophisticated fashion. Something that doesn’t just taste good and is hygienic but also looks good. Something unique that can be served at dinner parties, cocktails, birthdays, weddings and other such events, or even eaten as just a meal.

Supporting the Home Baker

We’ve been home bakers for a really long time. We know how difficult it is to manage a business from your personal kitchen. Not every one has the time or the finances to make their bakery in to something bigger. So here we are. Supporting those that are working from home. It’s something that’s engrained in our work ethic. For the love of food.

Our oath to freshness

Have you ever received food that doesn’t taste how it should. Ever felt something is off? We only bake what we sell. We never bake more than that. No freezing. No reheating. None of that. Hygiene is on the top of our priority and we put all our bakers through a series of checks. It’s that simple.
